Stages of digital transformation

The six stages of digital transformation
Stage 1 – Business as usual. This is how we have been doing it, and if it is not broken we don’t fix it! Commonly characterized by slow or stagnant business growth and lack of agility in execution of business processes.
Stage 2 – Present and active. There are various experiments being executed across the organization which drive digital literacy and creativity.
Stage 3 – Formalized – Business relevance comes in at this stage and the leadership should not support irrelevant business processes and operations, unfortunately this is not always the case!
Stage 4 – Strategic – Individuals realize the power of collaboration. Their shared efforts and insights lead to new strategic roadmaps.
Stage 5 – Converged – A dedicated digital transformation team is formed to guide the company strategy and operations.
Stage 6 – Innovative and adoptive – Digital transformation is now ‘business as usual’ and the new ecosystem is now established.
